Foundations and Principles of Upper extremity Rehabilitation

Program designed to provide a sound understanding for practice in the area of the upper extremity rehabilitation. The focus is on a quick review of anatomy, tissue response to injury, biomechanical and kinesiological concepts for conditions affecting the upper extremity. The mentee will demonstrate understanding of:

  • Functional anatomy of the upper extremity
  • Applied histology of tissue healing and affected of immobilization
  • Biomechanical and kinesiological effects of musculoskeletal system

(The mentee is expected to have a working knowledge of functional anatomy of the shoulder, elbow and the hand complex prior to the program. A required reading list will be provided before the start of the program)
